Real Instruments & Big Learning

In Little Music Stars classes, you’ll notice something special, we use real instruments.

Maracas, shakers, bells, claves and drums are more than just fun additions to a class. They provide important opportunities for babies and toddlers to explore sound, movement and coordination.

When little hands hold and explore instruments, they are developing fine motor skills.

Shaking, tapping, gripping and releasing help children learn how their hands work. These small movements strengthen muscles and build coordination that will support future skills like drawing, writing and dressing themselves.

Each instrument offers something different.

Shakers encourage controlled wrist movements.
Claves support coordination between both hands.
Bells introduce cause-and-effect learning.
Drums help children explore rhythm and confidence.

Most importantly, there’s no pressure to “play correctly.”

Children explore at their own pace. Some shake enthusiastically, others observe first. Both are valuable experiences.

Music gives children permission to explore freely. Through curiosity, experimentation and joy, they discover not only sound but confidence in themselves.
